Halloween Horror Nights 34 seems to have a theme emerging. With this new scare zone, guests better be cautious where they walk. The twists and turns could find them caught without an escape.
Over the past several weeks, Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights has teased horror lovers with each new announcement. From terrifying clowns to original houses, each detail only heightens their anticipation for the annual spooky event.
In a recent social media post, HHN revealed its first scare zone, The Origins of Horror. Although the description is slightly vague, one clue seems to offer a glimpse into the overall theme for this year’s event. Art and artists seem to have a twisted side to their creativity.
The idea of a decaying conservatory holds a lot of intrigue. From hidden passageways to Easter Eggs, this area should be full of details. Hopefully, there is not a corpse flower with its pungent bloom.
Immediate reaction was swift. People believe that the gargoyles, crows and other menacing items will keep them constantly looking over their shoulders. Whether or not stone statues come to life or items slither out from under those hiding spots, this scare zone will require multiple visits.
In some ways, this announcement is another nod to a scarier, more intense HHN34. While recent years have had horror with a side of fun, this version is not shying away from the extreme. Some people will be running to the Death Eaters as a moment of respite from the over-the-top frights.
This change might come from the new year-round Universal horror-centric experiences. Dark Universe might have its creepy factor, but the Chicago based offering and the Las Vegas encounter are not for the faint of heart. Screaming might be emotionally cathartic, and people crave that release. Warm and fuzzy are not adjectives associated with horror themed experiences.
Halloween Horror Nights 34 will open its doors on August 29. The event runs through November 2, guests. Just be cautious of those scare zones. It might be harder to navigate a way out.
